Privacy Principles
Because your privacy is important to us, The Mini-Books Network operates by the following principles.
Principle 1.
The Mini-Books Network explicitly asks when it needs information that personally identifies you ("Personal Information"). The Mini-Books Network asks for your name, age, gender, country origin, zipcode and e-mail address and may later request other demographic information. We also keep a record of your newsletter preferences.
Principle 2.
The Mini-Books Network keeps all of your personal information private and we will only share it with any third parties as outlined in this Privacy Statement, and the Terms and Conditions below. The Mini-Books Network will not disclose your personal information in any way outside of the scope of this Privacy Statement and the Terms and Conditions below, unless acting under a good faith belief that such action is necessary or is in keeping with: (1) conforming to legal requirements or complying with legal process; (2) protecting and defending the rights or property of The Mini-Books Network; (3) The Mini-Player Terms and Conditions; (4) act to protect the interests of it's members or others; or (5) outsourcing a service or function performed by a third party on behalf of The Mini-Books Network (in this instance PostMasterDirect who provide a double opt-in service off the Wotch.com website for targeted newsletters).
Principle 3.
The Mini-Books Network will not send you any unsolicited information. As part of it's service The Mini-Books Network will automatically subscribe users to all new content newsletter streams as they are developed and will from time to time expose subscribers to promotional offers that we think will be of interest to The Mini-Books Network subscribers. These new content streams and promotions will be clearly identified as part of The Mini-Books Network and will carry The Mini-Books Network logo for easy identification. At anytime you can choose to unsubscribe from individual newsletters by using our unsubscribe feature on the e-mails themselves OR by emailing privacy@mini-books.com. Users can unsubscribe from all The Mini-Books Network emails and promotions by unsubscribing at http://www.mini-books.comusers/remove.asp OR by emailing privacy@mini-books.com. From time to time, The Mini-Books Network may sell these content streams as individual newsletters to other content publishers. In these cases, the member's full data and information will be passed onto the new publishers. Users will be given two notices within these newsletters to Opt-out before such transfer as well as be offered the opportunity at all times to unsubscribe from these e-mails, once sent out by the new content publisher.
Principle 4.
To simplify the registration process required when responding to any promotional offers made on The Mini-Books Network, as mentioned under principle 3, The Mini-Books Network have introduced a single click registration process to save members from unnecessary duplication of registration information already supplied to The Mini-Books Network. In responding to any offers contained on The Mini-Books Network, by utilising the single click facility the member does in effect authorise and / or prevent The Mini-Books Network electronically transferring the requisite member data to the entity responsible for the offer or in other cases, the marketing partner. In such an event the user will be specifically notified that the 'single click registration' may transfer personally identifiable data to the marketing partner in question.
Principle 5.
If at any time you believe that The Mini-Books Network has not adhered to these principles, please notify us by e-mail at privacy@mini-books.com and we will use all commercially reasonable efforts to promptly determine and correct the problem. If you have questions about this policy, please e-mail us at privacy@mini-books.com. For more information about our privacy statement; see the following Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's).
